Measure your stock → arrange the sheet
Arrange barcodes on a printable sheet
Work out how many labels fit on your paper before exporting your batch. Set rows, columns, dimensions and gaps, inspect the sheet diagram, and apply the same layout to your barcode PDF.

How to use this workflow
- Select A4 or US Letter in the planner. Measure label width and height, the outer margin, and the gaps between labels.
- Adjust rows and columns until the diagram fits the sheet. Download a sample PDF to check page size and alignment.
- Upload CSV or Excel data and map the barcode and optional caption columns. Preview values before generating the batch.
- Unlock PDF export. The selected geometry is copied to the export controls, where you can review it before downloading.

Use identifiers you already own or have permission to encode. BarcodeDesk does not issue or register UPC, EAN or GS1 numbers.
Understand the measurements that determine fit
The required width is twice the outer margin, plus all label widths, plus the horizontal gaps between columns. Height is calculated the same way using rows, label heights and vertical gaps. The planner rejects a layout when either total exceeds the paper size.
This tool uses one equal outer margin for all four edges. It does not support independent top and left offsets, partial-sheet starting positions or custom paper sizes. Choose a compatible generic layout, or compare the measurements carefully with the specifications of your label stock.
Page count follows your valid row count
Three columns and ten rows hold 30 labels per page. A batch of 61 valid records therefore uses three pages. Invalid records are skipped in the label PDF; fix those records and rerun them if you need labels for the complete source table.
Each data row produces one label. For repeated labels, duplicate rows in the spreadsheet. The diagram is a geometry preview and does not simulate your printer's printable area. The PDF sample uses demonstration values, while your production PDF uses the successful rows from the uploaded batch.
Print at actual size and check the physical result
Use Actual size or 100% scaling in the PDF print dialog. Fit to page can shift label positions even when the exported PDF dimensions are correct. Start with plain paper and compare the boundaries against your stock under a light.
Barcode scan quality depends on the value, symbology, available label area and printer. Fitting a grid on paper is not a guarantee that a small barcode will scan. Test a printed barcode, retain the quiet space around it, and select a larger layout when the barcode or caption is crowded.
Barcode Sheet Generator questions
The current exporter starts at the first label position. Partial-sheet offsets are not supported.
The current exporter supports A4 and US Letter. Label dimensions and spacing are adjustable within those paper sizes.
It shows label positions and spacing. Download the demonstration PDF for example artwork; your uploaded batch is rendered in the paid PDF export.
