The short version
The barcode generator processes everything locally, in your browser. Nothing you type into it is ever sent to a server. The one exception is the contact form, which does exactly what it looks like it does — sends your message to us by email.
Barcode generation
Values, formats, and display settings you enter in the generator stay in your browser's memory for as long as the page is open, and are discarded when you navigate away or close the tab. BarcodeDesk has no server-side component for barcode generation and cannot see what you type.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject, and message you submit are sent by email to BarcodeDesk's inbox so we can read and reply to it. This data is transmitted through Google's Gmail service and is not stored in a database by BarcodeDesk beyond that email. It's used only to respond to your message.
Cookies and tracking
BarcodeDesk does not currently use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. If that changes — for example, if analytics are added to understand site traffic — this page will be updated first.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel's infrastructure may log basic technical request data (such as IP address and request timing) as a normal part of serving web traffic; BarcodeDesk does not access or use this data beyond what's needed to operate the site.
Paid features
Bulk generation and printable labels are still in development. When payment processing launches, it will be handled by a third-party payment processor — BarcodeDesk does not store your payment card details directly.
Accounts
BarcodeDesk doesn't have user accounts, and doesn't plan to. There's no password to store, no profile, and no cross-device history to sync.
